Duration:

One to six months

Location:

Primarily on site in Turku, Finland

Starting dates:

By agreement, from late 2026 through the first half of 2027

Opportunity

The Memristors & Neuromorphic Computing Group at the University of Turku invites applications from experienced researchers and senior industry specialists for a research visit within OCEANAut, a Business Finland-funded project developing memristive devices and neuromorphic hardware.

The visitor will work with the device and engineering teams to translate experimental GCMO memristor behaviour into validated models, characterization workflows and practical circuit-level design guidance.

Expertise sought

Relevant expertise includes compact or behavioural modelling of memristive devices; SPICE, Verilog-A or comparable model development; electrical characterization and device reliability; memristor circuit electronics; and device-to-circuit integration. Experience with physical reservoir computing or other dynamical neuromorphic systems is also welcome. Direct GCMO experience is advantageous, but applicants with transferable expertise in other memristive technologies are encouraged to apply.

Suitable candidates include experienced postdoctoral researchers, senior research fellows, university faculty members and senior industry R&D specialists.

Expected contribution

The visitor will agree on a focused work plan with the team. Outputs may include validated models, reusable characterization or simulation workflows, circuit-level validation, device-development recommendations, technical documentation and researcher training.

Status and funding

This is a visiting-researcher arrangement without an employment relationship with the University of Turku. Applicants should specify their funding arrangements and any support requested. Any programme contribution toward travel, accommodation or living costs will be agreed individually, subject to University rules and available resources. Financial support is not guaranteed.

Application

Submit a CV of no more than three pages, a collaboration plan of no more than two pages, relevant technical or research outputs, and preferred visit dates through Webropol.
