Your Responsibilities

Scientific coordination of the Forum for Democracy Research, including conducting independent research aligned with its core research priorities
Conceptualizing research ideas, implementing, and coordinating research projects in both fundamental research and applied, cooperative outreach and educational initiatives within the thematic focus areas of the Forum
Designing and organizing programs for the Forum for Democracy Research in collaboration with the advisory board
Developing event and research formats, as well as a methodological toolkit comprising research designs and workshops for participatory and multilingual outreach, education, and training, in cooperation with Forum members
Establishing and coordinating networks with civil society organizations and public institutions
Maintaining ongoing collaboration and communication with spokespersons, the advisory board, and other committees of the Forum for Democracy Research
Conceptualizing and contributing to the implementation of measures for documentation and evaluation within the Forum
Conducting and developing teaching activities and educational projects related to democracy research
Managing public relations for the Forum for Democracy Research and contributing to its profile and visibility

Your Profile

Completed doctorate (PhD) in the humanities, cultural studies, education, or social sciences
Academic focus in the reflexive study of democracy in society, in accordance with the founding declaration
Excellent command of both German and English, spoken and written
Ability to conduct high-level academic research, with a strong record of successful publications
Experience in conceptualizing and implementing (externally funded) research projects
Experience with intra- and extra-university collaborations
Experience in cultural management and knowledge transfer (Science to Public, third mission)
Ability and enthusiasm for conceptual thinking and structured organizational work
Experience in university and/or non-university teaching and educational activities (desirable)
Experience in project management (desirable)
Experience with participatory research formats (desirable)
Independent and efficient working style
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

We offer an annual gross salary of at least 70.200,20 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
