Your Responsibilities

Autonomous research in the field of foraminiferal micropaleontology with a special focus on macroecological patterns in planktonic foraminifera over the middle Eocene to Oligocene global cooling trend
Data analysis for the reconstruction of ecological measures, their spatial and temporal variability as well as their interpretation in the context of long term climate change
Collaboration with established research groups in the field of Paleontology and Stratigraphy
Conception and implementation of research projects and participation in raising the necessary third-party funds
Teaching of courses and conducting of examinations in the field of Paleontology and Stratigraphy
Supervision of BSc and MSc students
Engagement in activities of societal relevance in the field of Paleontology and Climate change as well as in the public relations work of the NAWI Graz Geocenter and Department
Participation in organizational and administrative tasks as well as in evaluation measures

Your Profile

Completed doctorate/PhD in the area of Paleontology or in a related field of research
Established expertise and proven portfolio of research within the fields of Micropalaeontology and Ecology
Excellent knowledge of English and good knowledge of German, both written and spoken
Very good IT skills
Experience with programming languages, e.g. R (advantageous)
Enjoyment of scientific work and working with students
Independent and goal-oriented working style
Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams and networks

We offer an annual gross salary of at least 70.200,20 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
