Job Description Summary & Additional Information

Organization's Summary Statement:

This position supports the Office of Sustainability in managing outreach and communications programs that engage students living in residence halls and fraternity or sorority chapters, in designed sustainability behavior programs. Provides outreach to engage faculty, staff, and off campus students. The position may require evening and weekend work.

  • Interacts with and advises staff and students.
  • Trains, mentors, and supports the development of interns, ambassadors, volunteers, and student leaders.
  • Supports communications efforts such as social media, newsletters, websites, and articles.
  • Encourages and supports a culture of sustainability within the University by assisting with activities, events, programs, and educational opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience: One (1) year of experience in assisting with the development, implementation, or marketing of sustainability programs.
  • Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.
  • Knowledge of environmental and sustainability programs.
  • Knowledge of best practices in project management.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
  • Ability to multitask while demonstrating a commitment to customer service.
