TITLE: Research Associate

Main responsibilities

Contribute substantially to planning new statistical genetics and bioinformatics projects.
Lead the development and maintenance of analysis pipelines for genome-wide association studies, polygenic scores, Mendelian randomization and the integration of genetic data with proteomic and transcriptomic data.
Analyze genotyping array, whole-genome sequencing and proteomic data from institutional and international cohorts on high-performance computing clusters.
Work with collaborative teams on the multidisciplinary aspects of the research projects.
Provide guidance to students and research staff on analysis methods and incorporate the tools they develop as appropriate.
Contribute substantially to the planning of new projects through contributing to grant writing and manuscripts.
Ensure data management, documentation and reproducibility of analyses in accordance with data access agreements.

Education/Experience

PhD in human genetics, bioinformatics, biostatistics or a related field with at least three years of relevant experience.

Other Qualifying Skills/Abilities

Excellent publication record in internationally recognized journals.
Experience in statistical genetics, including genome-wide association studies and analysis of biobank-scale data.
In-depth knowledge of R, Python, bash and git, and experience with high-performance computing.
Good understanding of statistics.
Strong oral communication and writing skills.
Strong organization skills, attention to detail and priority setting skills.
Ability to work autonomously in a complex, changing, deadline-oriented environment.
