Beyond Hidden Frontiers: Territorial Misalignment and Social Imaginaries in Contemporary Borderscapes BEYOND

Description of the research activity:

The researcher will contribute to the first phase of the Beyond Hidden Frontiers project, investigating the relationships between territorial misalignment, borderscapes and social imaginaries in border and minority regions. Activities will include a systematic interdisciplinary literature review; further development and operationalisation of the conceptual framework and definition of analytical criteria for subsequent comparative research; empirical research on South Tyrol through document and policy analysis, qualitative interviews, collection of narrative and visual material, and mapping of territorial representations; and qualitative data organisation, coding and analysis. The researcher will also contribute to the scientific dissemination of results and to the preparation of at least two scientific publications: one theoretical-conceptual article and one empirical article based on the South Tyrol case.
