YOUR TASKS

You will contribute to the development and valorisation of a platform for digital surgical planning of partial-nephrectomy procedures for kidney cancer by several tasks, including:

  • Increasing robustness of algorithms
  • Analysing clinical data from multicenter trials
  • Working towards regulatory alignment of algorithms
  • Supporting software development in line with relevant standards
  • Computational optimization of developed tools for commercial integration
  • Integration of surgical complexity predictions
  • Interacting with clinical and industrial partners
  • Contributing to technology transfer activities including valorisation, partner engagement and pilot testing
  • Dissemination (e.g. presenting at international conferences)
  • Supervising students and supporting ongoing research activities within the team

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • You hold a thesis-based doctorate (PhD) in Biomedical Engineering and Health Sciences, or a PhD in Biomedical Engineering
  • You have a strongly interdisciplinary background, being used to collaborate with engineers, clinicians
  • You have experience in medical image analysis and processing, computational modelling, AI/machine learning, and scientific software development
  • You have experience in technology transfer activities
  • You have experience in preparing, setting up and running multicenter clinical trials
  • Experience with medical technologies, translational research, and regulated software development is an asset
  • You are proactive, independent, and enjoy working in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • You have excellent communication skills in English.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

We offer you a contract of definite duration for a period of 18 months.

Your contract will start on 1/11/2026 at the earliest.

Your remuneration will be determined by salary scale PD1 to PD4 (if you hold a doctorate).
