About GSMI :

GSMI (Geology & Sustainable Mining institute) aims to strengthen its industrial partnerships within and beyond Morocco and Africa by adopting an integrated and sustainable strategic vision of R&D and training. The institute focuses on various aspects of the mine lifecycle and aims to provide significantly higher added value. In addition to conventional mineral resources R&D, GSMI places emphasis on developing the mine of the future, which includes areas such as geo-mineralogy of mineral resources, circular economy, resource governance, sustainable management of water in mining, and integrated management of mine discharges.

Furthermore, GSMI offers several state-of-the-art R&D platforms that are at the forefront of science and technology. These platforms serve as advanced research and development facilities for conducting cutting-edge research and exploring technological advancements in the field.

Background and Objectives

As part of the project titled Development of an Intelligent Geospatial Interface for Panel 8 of the Benguerir Phosphate Mine: Integration of Multidisciplinary Data, we are recruiting a web and server developer to work on the integration of AI and geostatistics.

The project aims to deliver a geospatial platform that enables the visualization and analysis of data collected from Panel 8 of the Benguerir mine.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Designing and conducting research related to the project s objectives.
Processing and analyzing the collected data by implementing machine learning algorithms and artificial intelligence.
Developing a web-based geospatial interface platform.
Collecting and managing data via a server.
Developing robust backend tools for structuring and interconnecting data,
Integrating artificial intelligence models for analysis, interpretation, and decision support, and implementing advanced features such as virtual assistants (chatbots) to facilitate user interaction.
Actively collaborating with partner teams (academic and industrial).
Participating in scientific project follow-up meetings.
Writing reports and scientific articles and presenting results internally.

Desired Qualifications

Ph.D. in AI / Research, Development, and AI Engineer, Geostatistics.
Solid expertise in AI and programming languages.
Strong writing skills and the ability to synthesize information.
Ability to work in a team and engage in interdisciplinary collaboration.
Previous experience in a collaborative project or with industry would be an asset.
