Position Overview
The Engagement and Alumni Relations Senior Associate broadens and deepens alumni and constituent engagement with the College of Education and Human Ecology (EHE) by developing purposeful, meaningful, impactful, and mutually beneficial relationships with alumni, corporate partners, supporters and internal colleagues of the college. The Senior Associate is an official liaison between EHE s Office of Advancement and the college s volunteer advisory boards and the faculty who manage them. The role develops, implements, and evaluates new or existing activities, programs, services, and communications within the assigned areas.
Under the direction of the Senior Director, the Senior Associate serves as the direct connection and lead engagement strategist for the college s volunteer industry and advisory boards, as well as the alumni society. The position is responsible for identifying, recruiting and training volunteers to support the college s strategic plans, as well as the Office of Advancement s philanthropic goals. Responsibilities include overseeing support for board volunteers related to invoices, gift-in-kind requests, board member identification and recruitment, membership roster maintenance, training and the creation, revision and maintenance of constitutions. The Senior Associate assists the Senior Director with managing annual giving campaigns and works closely with partners in the Central Office of Advancement, the Alumni Association, and the EHE Office of Advancement to connect volunteers with resources related to annual giving and develop annual giving opportunities for the broader EHE constituency. The Senior Associate will also work directly with EHE faculty to share information on recent giving and prospective board member lists. The Senior Associate will ensure that all relevant data is captured in the Advancement database. They will also create and share resources to support board volunteers and faculty.
The Senior Associate reports to the Senior Director of Engagement and Stewardship and assists with engagement activities, including event planning and programming. The role will work closely with other members of the Office of Advancement s development team to cultivate, engage and steward the relationships of key board partners with the goal of increasing philanthropic support to the college.
Relationship-building and collaboration are critical to success in this role. The Senior Associate works closely with faculty and staff to identify potential philanthropic and/or engagement opportunities with alumni and constituents and to coordinate appropriate engagement-focused events. The Senior Associate operates with a high degree of independence, decision making capabilities, judgment, consistency, discretion, and fiscal responsibility.
This position requires a flexible schedule and occasional evening and weekend work.

- Develops and coordinates engagement and cultivation strategies, opportunities and trends that focus on the college s alumni, donors, corporate constituents and friends within the college s volunteer boards.
- Identifies, recruits and trains volunteers to support the college s strategic plan and overall philanthropic goals.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates new or existing activities, programs, services, and communications within the assigned areas.
- Has oversight of assisting faculty and volunteers with financial and recruitment processes, forms and filing requirements, and the creation, revision and maintenance of constitutions.
- Ensures relevant data is captured in the proprietary database.

- Partners with the Senior Director of Engagement and Stewardship, as well as EHE Events staff, to coordinate, and facilitate, engagement events, programs, and opportunities.

- Assist the Senior Director with managing annual giving campaigns.
- Partners with Central Advancement, the Engagement Center, and the Alumni Association to ensure coordination of annual giving efforts.

- Contributes to EHE s Office of Advancement by fostering and exhibiting teamwork, participates in internal workgroups as appropriate, performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree or equivalent combination of education/experience.
- Two years of volunteer management, alumni relations, constituent engagement, donor relations, annual giving, customer relations, or similar relationship-focused roles.
Desired Qualifications:

- Two years of customer relations, volunteer management and/or institutional advancement experience.
- Direct alumni relations and/or fundraising experience.
- Experience working with a variety of audiences and communities.
- Experience working with volunteers, donors, academic partners and/or college faculty.
- Experience working with relationship database systems.

The budget for this position is up to $60,300. The offer for this position will be based on internal equity and the candidate's qualifications.
