The Department of Political Science is inviting applications for a course lecturer position to teach in Winter 2027. Please include your Cover Letter and Curriculum Vitae and if applicable a copy of your Study/Work Permit. A brief course outline is optional.

POLI 434-001 History of Political and Social Theory 4 (3 Credits - CAP 50)

A consideration of selected writers and themes of late 19th and 20th century political theory. Writers include Hegel, Clausewitz, Marx, Mill, Nietzsche, Lenin, Rowis, Foucault, and Habermas. The rise of industrial society, scientism, the romantic revolt, revolutionary movements, socialism and liberal-democracy.

Teaching Qualification Requirements:

  • A completed PhD degree or enrolled in a doctoral program in Political Science or a discipline related to the course;

  • Provide evidence of effective teaching ability as a result of having successfully taught a similar course;

  • The candidate's area of specialization must be as close as possible to that of the course being offered;

  • Experience as a teaching assistant for a course is an asset.

Tuesday and Thursday 01:05 pm-02:25 pm, January 5, 2027 April 14, 2027. Location: ENGMC 12.

Salary:

$11,824 per course.
