TITLE: Career Services Specialist, Extension Internships

Department: FAES | Academic Program Administration

Position assists in the implementation of career development programing for the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES). Individual will be expected to have and/or develop knowledge of and work with all CFAES programs.

Duties and Responsibilities

30% - Program development and coordination to be done with an aggressive emphasis on the development, growth and expansion of internships within OSU Extension
25% - Provide individual and group career advising/coaching to students
15% - Assists with the coordination and facilitation of training and career development workshops geared toward students to include such items as resume preparation, job-search strategies, interview and experiential learning preparation skills
15% - Assists with the coordination and facilitation of training and workshops geared toward extension educators to include such items as internship need assessment, internship creation, intern on-boarding guides, and supervisor/mentor training guides
10% - Coordinate OSU Extension internship tracking, collection, and reporting
5% - Serves as a liaison between career development office and OSU Extension offices through partnership outreach

Required Qualifications

Bachelor s Degree.
1 year experience with career advising, student development, or a related area.
Outstanding communication skills working with people individually and in large group settings.
Ability to coordinate several projects and duties at the same time.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to connect with people and create connections.
Knowledge of online education, as well as technology platforms, including, but not limited to Canvas (or other online course management system), Handshake (or other career services system), Zoom, and Microsoft Teams. Ability to work with faculty, staff, students, and external organizations.

Desired Qualifications

Experience working with the OSU Extension network.
Background and working knowledge of food, agricultural, and environmental sciences industries.
Internship supervision experience.

The salary range for this position is $21.35 - $27.88/hour.

The offer for this position will fall within the positions pay range based on internal equity, unit s available budget, and the candidate s qualifications.
