Fukushima Institute for Research, Education and Innovation (F-REI) is recruiting Researcher, Senior Researcher, Expert or Senior Expert (non-PI positions) to join its growing research units and contribute to cutting-edge science, technology, and innovation in Fukushima.

About F-REI

Fukushima Institute for Research, Education and Innovation (F-REI) was established by the Government of Japan in April 2023 to support the revitalization of Fukushima and the wider Tohoku region through research, innovation, and collaboration. The institute brings together researchers from diverse disciplines to address scientific and societal challenges while fostering innovation and regional development.

Research Fields

We are seeking qualified candidates across five research areas:

Area 1: Robotics
Area 2: Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries
Area 3: Energy
Area 4: Radiation Science, Medicine and Drug Development, & Industrial Applications for Radiation
Area 5: Collection and Dissemination of Data and knowledge on Nuclear Disasters

Qualifications

Hold a doctoral degree (for Researcher position applicants)
Possess a demonstrated record of achievements and expertise relevant to the Research and Development Unit to the applicant wishes to join
Ability to read technical documents and communicate effectively in English (English proficiency equivalent to a TOEIC score of 550 or higher)
