Job Description

Washington Athletics has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Coach, Men s Tennis.

About this Opportunity

This position reports to the Head Men s Tennis Coach, within the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Under the direction of the head coach, the Assistant Coach will be responsible for the leadership, management, oversight, and execution of a comprehensive collegiate athletic program serving men s tennis student-athletes within the University of Washington s Athletic Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coaching and athletic performance: 50%
  • Recruiting and talent identification: 35%
  • Compliance, Roster Management & Administrative Operations: 10%
  • Student-athlete development: 5%

Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree.
  • A minimum of one year of coaching or playing tennis at the collegiate or professional level.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and according to Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations.
  • Skill in working independently and following through on duties with minimal direction.
  • Outstanding communication, listening, analytical, and problem-solving skills in work with student-athletes and athletic department staff.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours and travel extensively for competition and recruiting, as needed.
  • Compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, the Conference, the State of Washington and any other governing body is of paramount importance to the University. The overall responsibility of this position is to ensure the successful operation of the program in full compliance with all such rules and regulations. As a condition of employment, the Employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics
